Fraunhofer IZFP Dresden
IZFP-D: Dresden branch of the Fraunhofer Institute for Nondestructive Testing IZFP
Fraunhofer IZFP develops solutions for nondestructive testing (NDT). Industrial customers get help wherever quality and reliability of their products and services should be improved, in the public area the institute contributes to the topics health, energy and environment. The Dresden branch of IZFP is especially focussed to applied microelectronics and sensor systems. Quality assurance in light weight engineering, the development of testing electronics for various application fields, multi scale material characterization, life cycle management and reliability analysis as well as high-resolution nanoanalysis are some of the main fields of activity at IZFP Dresden.
The Fraunhofer IZFP Dresden is going to be integrated into the Fraunhofer IKTS on January 1, 2014: Fraunhofer IZFP currently has two locations in Saarbrücken and Dresden. The Fraunhofer Executive Board is committed to uphold and further develop both sites separately from January 1, 2014. The IZFP Saarbrücken will continue under the managing direction of Prof. Randolf Hanke, during the Dresden part is going to be integrated into the Fraunhofer IKTS led by Prof. Alexander Michaelis. The business areas and core competencies are to be adjusted to each other. For this purpose, the two sites will develop an agenda that will be implemented gradually in a time frame of approximately three years. Ongoing projects, contracts and customer relations are unconcerned about this process.
